Swiss journalist Mireille Schnorf and Swiss newspapers as a whole are all favourable when it comes to Bulgarian sculptor Atanas Karadechev. After his exhibitions in "Dougoud" gallery (Corcelettes) and "Théâtre de Poche" (Vevey) his works were said to "impress with professionalism and uncontrollably drag the mind to the fantastic, grotesque, nightmarish characters of Bosch and Bruegel."
Atanas Karadechev's sculpture, entitled "Love", has been chosen as an entry in The World Art Collection: The Beauty of the Planet in 1001 Works of Art in 2001.
Bulgaria's most renowned sculptor, Professor Georgi Tchapkanov, says: "Atanas Karadechev's compositions are vital, vigorous and original. The fact that they're unusual is a guarantee for the author's talent and his authentic way of looking at life."
Atanas Karadechev's "The Trap" has been sold by the auction house "Hôtel Drouot". Being the French equivalent of the English Sotheby's, this has been a great honor, since "Hôtel Drouot" has been auctioning the works of all the great masters of the brush, such as Renoir, Picasso, Manet and others.
Atanas Karadechev has made the first Bulgarian monument in memory of the Bulgarian Jews saved during World War Two. On this occasion "Shalom", Organization of the Jews in Bulgaria, has stated that: "The sculptor put all his heart and love in that work and created a monument, which will remain for the next generations. He fulfilled accurately his obligations and completion of the work. In spite of the hard weather conditions the monument was completed in due time and at a high level of quality."
